Q&A with Lawrence Township Schools

Food Support, Aid, and Security for our Community

Earlier this summer, we shared opportunities to donate and provide food for families within our community through:

  • Indy Courageous Kitchen

  • Outreach +

  • Belzer Middle School Food Pantry.

We had an overwhelming response from you all in support. Thank you for being the church and moving to help those in need.

We want to continue the work of food support and security for our community.

After conversations with Lawrence Township school officials to discuss the need of families in our surrounding community, we heard that the biggest hardship for families continues to be FOOD. Donations, gift cards, and groceries continue to be collected by school liaisons in an effort to provide relief for school families.

With a heart for families and schools in our community and guided directly by Lawrence Township Schools, CGNE has been joined the effort in providing food security for our community.

Starting in August, our goal as CGNE is to provide $500/month through the next year (July ‘21) to Lawrence Township Schools to disperse for food support and aid for families.

CGNE has already received a commitment of $250/month toward that goal and we are challenging our congregation to match $250/month to reach the $500/month goal. For reference, if each of our House Churches committed to $250 to Lawrence Township Schools for the year, we would meet this goal. That would be $20/month from each House Church. This is an attainable goal...we can do this!

This is only the first step in what hope is long and strong relationship between CGNE and Lawrence Township schools. Many potentials have been discussed in what this relationship could hold. However, it starts with the first step.

Join us, help us take that first step to build this relationship.

If you are able, considering jumping in with us to provide food support, aid, and security for our families through Lawrence Township Schools. To donate, click here.
