JUNE 13, 2021 - CGKIDS

Parents -

Below are some resources for our children in children’s ministry. Please note that our Preschool - 3rd grade children are hearing the same story so that portion of the resources for the Sunday will be the same. The response options are different and have been created to be age appropriate. However, if you choose to reenact the story, you can have all ages participate. If you have multiple children in your family the Godly Play option for the K/1 grade room is a good option to adapt to all family members.

For Our Younger Preschool children:

  1. Pray with your child. It can be something simple like - God we thank you for today. Thank you for Jesus and we thank you that He loves each of us. Thank you for changing Paul’s life!

  2. Sing He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands

  3. Watch the video above with today’s story.

  4. Today we continue talking about God’s creation and how God created people, specifically Adam and Eve. Color this coloring page.

For Our Older Preschool Room children:

  1. Have your child say a prayer before they begin. If they struggle, it can be something simple like: Thank you God for today. We thank you for how the Bible teaches us about Jesus and You!

  2. Remind the children that the story they are about to watch is from the Bible.

  3. Watch the video above of our Godly Play story.

  4. Wonder - Have your child wonder what was his/her favorite part of the story.

  5. Respond to the story - Do a google search and find a fish that is a coloring page. Pick out your favorite. Color it and add some tissue paper to it for scales if you have some at home.

For Our Kindergarten and 1st Grade children:

  1. Have your child say a prayer before they begin. If they struggle, it can be something simple like: Thank you God for today. We thank you that your Son died for us and that we get to know Him and follow Him. Amen.

  2. Remind the children that the story they are about to watch is from the Bible.

  3. Watch the video above.

  4. Wonder about the video.

  5. Respond to the story - Recreate the fish and loaves from the story using playdough. Make 5 loaves of bread and two fish. Break the bread and fish into pieces. How many pieces did you get? Do you think this would be enough to feed 5000 people?

  6. Sing Who You Say I Am.

For Our 2nd and 3rd grade children:

  1. Have your child say a prayer before they begin. If they struggle, it can be something simple like: Thank you God for today. Thank you for sending us your Son, Jesus. Please help us make others aware of Jesus’ love for them and how He gave to save us from our sins.

  2. Remind the children that the story they are about to watch is from the Bible.

  3. Watch the video above.

  4. Wonder using the questions in the video.

  5. Respond to the story - Draw a picture of this story. What does it look like when you visualize the events happening?

  6. Read Matthew 14:15-21, Mark 6:30 - 44, Luke 9:12-17, John 6:1-15

  7. Sing Who You Say I Am

For Our 4th and 5th Graders:

  1. Have your child say a prayer before they start.

  2. Read Deuteronomy 31:8. Have you ever been in a situation where you were scared of what was ahead? In this situation, where did you want your parents? Beside you? Behind you? In front of you? Something different? There is something comforting about having a person go ahead of you. They can troubleshoot the situation first. God promises us that He will be in front of us to protect us. Knowing that Jesus not only beside you but also in front of you, can help you face your fears!

  3. Read Psalm 56:3-4.

  4. What are your biggest fears? Write those down. Then, really quickly write “TRUST IN GOD.” Write “TRUST IN GOD” again but take your time. There is a difference when we really take time to trust in Him!

  5. Sing Who You Say I Am.
