JUNE 27, 2021 - CGKIDS
Parents -
Below are some resources for our children in children’s ministry. Please note that our Preschool - 3rd grade children are hearing the same story so that portion of the resources for the Sunday will be the same. The response options are different and have been created to be age appropriate. However, if you choose to reenact the story, you can have all ages participate. If you have multiple children in your family the Godly Play option for the K/1 grade room is a good option to adapt to all family members.
** Please note: Graduation Sunday will happen on August 1. On this date, children will move classrooms at the church and should begin watching the online material for their 2021-2022 grade and age break-out. More info to come! **
For Our Younger Preschool children:
Pray with your toddler. It can be something simple like - God we thank you for today. Thank you for Jesus and we thank you that He loves each of us. Thank you for changing Paul’s life!
Watch the video above with today’s story.
Today we continue talking about how Adam and Eve disobeyed God but he still loved them. Here is a coloring page to go along with the story.
For Our Older Preschool Room children:
Have your child say a prayer before they begin. If they struggle, it can be something simple like: Thank you God for today. We thank you for how the Bible teaches us about Jesus and You!
Remind the children that the story they are about to watch is from the Bible.
Watch the video above of our Godly Play story.
Wonder - Have your child wonder what was his/her favorite part of the story.
Respond to the story - Jesus visited Mary and Martha. I wonder if they offered Jesus something to drink and something to eat? Use a paper plate and decorate it for Jesus!
For Our Kindergarten and 1st Grade children:
Have your child say a prayer before they begin. If they struggle, it can be something simple like: Thank you God for today. We thank you that your Son died for us and that we get to know Him and follow Him. Amen.
Remind the children that the story they are about to watch is from the Bible.
Watch the video above.
In addition to the wondering in the video, wonder about the following: I wonder what you would do to entertain Jesus if He came to your house?
Respond to the story - Act out how you would entertain Jesus from the wondering above. Have your family help and participate!
Sing Who You Say I Am.
For Our 2nd and 3rd grade children:
Have your child say a prayer before they begin. If they struggle, it can be something simple like: Thank you God for today. Thank you for sending us your Son, Jesus. Please help us make others aware of Jesus’ love for them and how He gave to save us from our sins.
Remind the children that the story they are about to watch is from the Bible.
Watch the video above.
In addition to the wondering in the video, wonder about the following: I wonder what you would do to entertain Jesus if He came to your house? I wonder who you can relate to in the story - Mary or Martha?
Respond to the story - Act out how you would entertain Jesus from the wondering above. Have your family help and participate!
Read today’s story in the Bible - Luke 10:38-42
Sing Who You Say I Am.
For Our 4th and 5th Graders:
Have your child say a prayer before they start.
Read Deuteronomy 31:8. Have you ever been in a situation where you were scared of what was ahead? In this situation, where did you want your parents? Beside you? Behind you? In front of you? Something different? There is something comforting about having a person go ahead of you. They can troubleshoot the situation first. God promises us that He will be in front of us to protect us. Knowing that Jesus not only beside you but also in front of you, can help you face your fears!
Read Psalm 56:3-4.
What are your biggest fears? Write those down. Then, really quickly write “TRUST IN GOD.” Write “TRUST IN GOD” again but take your time. There is a difference when we really take time to trust in Him!
Sing Who You Say I Am.
