JUNE 6, 2021 - CGKIDS
Parents -
Below are some resources for our children in children’s ministry. Please note that our Preschool - 3rd grade children are hearing the same story so that portion of the resources for the Sunday will be the same. The response options are different and have been created to be age appropriate. However, if you choose to reenact the story, you can have all ages participate. If you have multiple children in your family the Godly Play option for the K/1 grade room is a good option to adapt to all family members.
For Our Younger Preschool children:
Pray with your toddler. It can be something simple like - God we thank you for today. Thank you for Jesus and we thank you that He loves each of us. As we learn about creation, we thank you for all the things you created for us to enjoy!
Watch the video above with today’s story.
Today we continue talking about God’s creation and how God created different animals. Color this coloring page.
For Our Older Preschool Room children:
Have your child say a prayer before they begin. If they struggle, it can be something simple like: Thank you God for today. We thank you for how the Bible teaches us about Jesus and You!
Remind the children that the story they are about to watch is from the Bible.
Watch the video above of our Godly Play story.
Wonder - Have your child wonder what was his/her favorite part of the story.
Respond to the story - Create the waves and the wind. You can do this by taking a craft stick/popsicle stick and taping a piece of blue streamer to it.
For Our Kindergarten and 1st Grade children:
Have your child say a prayer before they begin. If they struggle, it can be something simple like: Thank you God for today. We thank you that your Son died for us and that we get to know Him and follow Him. Amen.
Remind the children that the story they are about to watch is from the Bible.
Watch the video above.
Respond - create the waves and water by using strips of construction paper or pieces of crepe paper/streamer. Glue on to a piece of paper and draw a boat and people.
Sing Who You Say I Am.
For Our 2nd and 3rd grade children:
Have your child say a prayer before they begin. If they struggle, it can be something simple like: Thank you God for today. Thank you for sending us your Son, Jesus. Please help us make others aware of Jesus’ love for them and how He gave to save us from our sins.
Remind the children that the story they are about to watch is from the Bible.
Watch the video above.
Respond - create the waves and water by using strips of construction paper or pieces of crepe paper/streamer. Glue on to a piece of paper and draw a boat and people.
Read today’s story in Mark 4:35-41.
For Our 4th and 5th Graders:
Have your child say a prayer before they start.
Read Isaiah 43:18-19. Knowing Jesus can change how you see your problems and your worries. Write down your worries on one side of the paper and then think about God will be with you, how He can teach you. If you have problems seeing how your worries can turn into a teachable moment, ask Jesus to help.
Read Ephesians 4:22-24
Jesus changes the way you see everything, and when you see things differently, you live differently. We get rid of the “old” things we did and bring in new things. This is kind of like purging things from a closet. Clean out your closet and see if there are some old things that you need to get rid of. What will you do with them: throw them away? Recycle? Donate? As you talk to your parent about these things, talk about bad habits that you can get rid of.
