MARCH 29 - CGKIDS
Parents -
Below are some resources for our children in children’s ministry. Please note that our Preschool - 3rd grade children are hearing the same story so that portion of the resources for the Sunday will be the same. The response options are different and have been created to be age appropriate. However, if you choose to reenact the story, you can have all ages participate. If you have multiple children in your family the Godly Play option for the K/1 grade room is a good option to adapt to all family members.
**Special Announcement - Save the Date! Pastor Jody will be hosting a CGKids Virtual Hangout on Sunday, April 5 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am via Google Hangouts. Hop online to say hi to Pastor Jody and to some of your CGNortheast friends. To join us, go to April 5’s CGKids resource page and click the link we will provide.**
For Our Toddler children on March 29:
Pray for your toddler. It can be something simple like - God we thank you for today. Thank you for all you teach us through your Bible and the stories that are in it. Amen.
Sing This is the Day.
Watch the video above with today’s story.
Ask your child - do you know anyone who is sick? Let’s pray for them together!
Have your child color this coloring page.
Next Sunday is Palm Sunday. I actually have some homework for most of our kids so that they can participate more fully in next week’s lesson. Have your toddler help color some palm fronds to wave next Sunday. Please have an older sibling or a parent/guardian cut them out for them.
For Our Preschool Room children on March 29:
Have your child say a prayer before they begin. If they struggle, it can be something simple like: Thank you God for today. We thank you for your Word and your Son. We pray that we learn something new about you today. Amen.
Remind the children that the story they are about to watch is from the Bible.
Watch the video above of our Godly Play story. The video will lead the children through some wondering.
Respond to the story - God is our Healer! This is a timely message. Grab a piece of paper and a pencil and trace your child’s hands. Have them color and decorate. Write “Jesus has healing hands” on the paper. You can also have your child make a homemade card for someone who is sick and send it to them via the mail!
Sing with Mr. Larry and Ms. Gayle’s video. We won’t be singing together on Palm Sunday Sunday, but this is fun to sing in anticipation of Holy Week coming up.
